Sometimes, the end can come suddenly, especially when we're dealing with punch resistance and a fighter who relied on speed. I certainly didn't think the end would come that suddenly for his world class days.

I hate the revisionism that's happened with Bute's career since that. He didn't have an A+ win, but he took care of the "B" guys as well or better than anyone else out there.

Does anybody expect Porter to get the Lacy treatment by Brook tonight?

Unless some freak accident or hail mary punch lands then i see Shawn Porter winning this pretty comfortably by stoppage inside 8 rounds and i wouldn't be shocked if he knocks out Brook very early.

Porter is just a much better fighter in every department, he's got quicker hand and foot speed, better athlete and his punches have are sharper and more precise plus he's the better all round boxer and technician.

PORTER BY KO INSIDE 8 RDS.

Man, I'm a fan of Porter, his slipping when moving forward is beautiful.

Porter's like a mini-Marco Huck. He's a damn caveman, but that's not easy to beat as long as you've still got the physicality left in the tank.

    Round 1

Porter is darting forward throwing hyperactive jabs at the head and body. Brook is throwing fewer jabs, but taking aim calmly. Clinch as Porter jumps in. Zigzagging steps by Porter. Brook lands a counter left hook as Porter is darting in with jabs low. Porter stuffs a high jab and Brook jerks away from it, rolling forward as Porter retracts. Jab, right, three hooks by Porter. Brook slips and knocks down all the punches and ties up. Porter is leading with high right hands. Stiff counter right by Brook. Porter swarms in and hits the body. Right hand by Brook backing Porter out, leaping with his arms spread. Right hand lead by Brook, over the back of Porter. Long jab by Brook, not reaching as Porter waits outside and dips to one side in a semi-crouch. Porter walks into a crisp 1-2.

    10-9 Brook, close
