His stock fell drastically And even before then he wasn't known that well outside the hardcore boxing fans even though he was unbeaten and mauling his opponents And now even after beating Broner, the focus is still on Broner Now lets be honest, if porter started to - Wear gold grills in his mouth - Beat the fcking **** out his girlfriend everyday, - Didn't finish his sentences and be cursing and slurring every second like he's got a severe case of tourettes and downs combined - Drive without any insurance - Have a criminal record history longer than valuev's arms - Pose with guns - Cry about the police on social media then he'd be millions of fans sucking his nuts right now.
But the OP is quite right. He'd probably half his fan base if he stopped on the PEDs. A lot of posters seem to love cheating in the sport.
Agree 100% Porter is a sweet guy so no cares, ironically I liked him quite a bit even before the Kell fight and if anyone listened to me about levels and how Kell was just a level above, not because Porter was a bum like they all convinced themselves of to make themselves feel better after the loss to Kell, and how wrong they were. They would have seen the Broner beatdown coming a mile away like I did.
Build a circus and the clowns will come, basically. It's nothing new in boxing but most understand it's a gimmick and persona like wrestling, Broner is actually that disturbed ringmaster though, the others just wear the costume. I dunno, I respect somebody like Canelo more than someone who is a 'entertainment-wise' boring fighter so has to resort to cheap x-factor thrills to compensate. I don't watch Mayweather to be entertained, I skip past his All Access parts , I don't get anything from his interviews except 'I'm truly blessed/solid competitor/tremendous job/take my hat off/Money/TBE', I like seeing him train and am enthralled by his technical acumen still. I have no interest in the tiring cliché of brash, ****y loudmouth... so Porter I am a fan of as he's exciting and just himself. The casuals need superficial reasons to be intrigued though... they wouldn't have watched Matthysse or Provodnikov, maybe if they shared some of the Canelo or Broner marketing hype but they were not picked for that.
