Great domestic fighter btw, his wars with Mike Griffith and Andy Holligan were absolutely awesome. Although there was the other fight where that guy kept falling over and blaming the slippy canvas.

funnily enough, the Neary win is dramatized as Ward's greatest achivement. It's a good film all in all but its packaged for general viewing. Anyone with any knowledge of Ward's career will spot the flaws

Jimmy Neary was a top fighter, very unlucky in some top decisions too, I personally had him winning the Magee fight by a fair few rounds.. He was also up on the cards when Ward stopped him too!!

Yes, very good fighter neary. Mickey ward is one man that can deliver thee perfect left hook to the body. Hatton was good with it but ward is something else, pure power when he whipped it in doubling and trippling it, it made me wince for the other fighter. Ward was only getting warmed up with neary if i can remember correctly, he was always gonna win once he got in the groove.

Yeah I went down A few times, jimmy is a great fella and taught me a few old style pro tricks.. He's a good fella who knows the game inside out.. His dedication to the game is possibly the greatest I've ever witnessed, the lengths he would go to are as close to the limit as possible :good
