The more I think about it, GOLOTA is the best choice.

One last chance for Golota before father time makes it pointless. It would be a fight that you could market in Europe and the USA (I think casual boxing fans can be reminded of who Golota is very quickly). Just bring out a couple of clips of the Bowe fights!

Wlad should take this fight -- it's a good name to add to his resume. Beating up James Toney is not going to make for good clips on the sports highlight reel. Losing to a small, tubby Toney would also be hard to explain.

Klitschko vs. Golota -- it must happen.

Of course, we'll get something totally pointless, as good matches are rarely signed these days.

You are one of the few posters on ESB I truly respect, but you are wrong here. Valuev-Wlad is a HUGE MEGAFIGHT. At least a $25 million dollar fight. It needs much more time to get it all together and promote over there.

I have lost any trust in match making! Didn't HBO approve of Ray Austin? (I'm not sure if they did, but that would not give me much hope for an interim match).

Go Golota vs. Klitschko! An easy sell.

 

Austin was a mandatory Wlad had to fight him. Thank Don King for that joke of a fight by getting Austin ranked #1 by the IBF.

A real Golotarella (or is it Cinderlota) story that would be!
The rematch would be huge, perhaps Vitali would step in instead.
With family honour on the line, Vitali would have to fight (slightly injured) or not. (I'm getting carried away, but man, Golota would make for an exciting night). One would be hard pressed to picture Wlad / Golota going to a dull 12 round decision.

Two real heavyweights, both big punchers, both of questionable "mental" attributes (in very different ways) and they would both come into the fight in shape.

Fighting Golota could make Wlad take a chance on early fight aggression, something he really hasn't done lately. Could he wipe out Golota like Lewis / Brewster, or could Golota treat him like Bowe?

 

I've got it, maybe they'll take an easy fight with KO machine Michael Grant. He's big and looks like a strong Heavyweight, he fought Lennox Lewis (great way to name drop). And, he likes to take 10 second naps in the ring when facing a heavy puncher. A safe name for a quick fight.

 

I totally agree. He's getting back on track after his loss, and should be better for it. Needs at least 2 to 3 more (quality) fights before he's ready to step up. It's still tough to imagine him beating a prepared and confident Wlad. Valuev would be a better opponent. Plus, they seem to like it when Valuev fights guys 30cm shorter than himself.

 

True enough. Let's be honest, any 6' 1" man with a physique that looks soft at 215lbs is going to have a hard time beating Wlad. This is not the prototype for building a Wlad Killer!:yep

It is laughable. It happens to often so i cannot believe it. Injuiries happend in sports but in this case i do not believe it.

Hasim Rahman would be a good choice.
