Fights taking place in the UFC as apose to SF really makes no difference as to the quality of the fighter.

Consider Werdums fight with AA, it happened in the UFC but really what does AA have to do with the UFC HW division today? he beat Nelson and Rothwell but nobody else has ever faced him. Really that was a match between two fighters much more involved on the "Strikeforce" half of the division since AA has fought and lost to many of them.

To judge Werdum soley on the JDS fight seems very harsh to me, not only was it just a single match in a career thats encompassed multiple big fights(more than Lesnar, Carwin and Cain combined) but I think you could also make the case that he wasnt fighting at near to his best, came in not in great shape and looked sloppy before being caught early by a dangerous unknown.

Your glib response is indicative of how feeble your argument is and how little you know about hormone abuse. Like i said i brushed the topic off as it's irrelevant to the subject topic. Shame that after three attempts you still haven't even grasped that. Oh well....

Werdum is actually a perfect example of way MMAth doesnt work, even putting aide performance style plays a massive part in the sport, could JDS have beaten Fedor the way Werdum did? almost definately not.

There is no debate. Werdum is the undisputed MMA heavyweight champion.

Nobody is basing everything off of JDS vs Werdum. It's just one example of the overall situation. Everyone with a brain understands that styles make fights.

As I said I think the reality is that we simpley can't make any defintive judgements about much of the HW division right now due to inexpereince and inactivity.

The only two fighters who've had both recent and long term sucess are Fedor and Werdum, beyond them I think its more a case of judging who has the potential to be an elite HW.

I think that everyone in the HW GP in SF has that potential, Rogers maybe a little less so but I do think he could be a low end top 10 HW long term.

Who in the UFC has that potential? Cain, JDS, Carwin, Mir and Lesnar are it for me, Nog MAYBE if he changes his style but sadly I think thats pushing it now. Beyond that we've got guys like Kongo, Browne, Nelson, Rothwell etc who while decent HW's are pretty clearly not capable of being elite fighters.

Fired by Zuffa? Comments like this make MMA fans look like perpetual ******s. Sherdog doesn't even have credentialing from the UFC - yet they are in your mind "working for them."

It's not too late for suicide. Just leave a note so everyone knows why. The gene pool can't support you any more.

Seems like thats exactly what you were doing to me.

The rest of what you posted was just the same tired old "everyone in pride was overated and on roids" fanboy rubbish we've heard a million times before. You look at both sides of the coin and I actually think the Pride fighters have held up better, look at who was ontop of both orgs in say 2005 and see who's still sucessful today, Shogun, Rampage, Fedor, Hendo etc are still doing well on the Pride side but who's having much sucess on the UFC side? Hughes? Chuck? Randy? Tito? Sylvia? AA? Franklin? Sherk? pretty much nobody who was getting hype back then has had much sucess in recent years.

I don't know where your getting the idea Werdum was being massively hyped when he joined the UFC, back then he was looked at as a solid top 10 HW but not one of the very best. Even today who is claiming Werdum's the best HW in the world? very few people that I'v heard compaired to those who were hyping Brock as such or are now hyping Cain.

Dont bother. Widdow is hopeless UFC schill. He includes the occasional smattering of "I love both Org's" in a lame attempt at adding credibility to his argument but he constantly aims he's barbs at PRIDE and its former fighters.
He then has the audacity to call me out on my "apparent" PRIDE bias but then equally isnt even willing to recognise his sheer lack of objectivity and UFC cheerleading.

You gotta love how in one thread you go on about how not to bother with me, blah blah blah and my love for Mark Coleman.... then in another you talk about how not to bother with me, blah blah blah,... and how I constantly aim by "barb's" at Pride and it's former fighters.:rofl

Unlike you, I really don't consider people Pride fighters and UFC fighters (even though that's the way I have to describe them as on here, because it's how people like you label them)... I consider them all MMA fighters. Sure... I have been in plenty of arguments with BOTH sides regarding the other. It's because people like you are impossible to debate with. You go to such extremely EVERY DAY to bash the UFC and you act like nobody notices. So, of course when I say something against what you are saying... you immediately brand me a "UFC schill".

Unlike you I love MMA, not just certain ORGS and fighters. I don't let things that Dana White says bother me because I don't give a **** about what Dana White says. I don't think that normal people are surprised when somebody contradicts themselves and has double standards when it comes to the company and fighters that they represent. For some reason you are aboslutely amazed every time that it happens.

I watch every MMA event that I can regardless of what org it is. I was one of the first to come on here the last time that they had a card on the same night to talk about how much better the Strikeforce card was. Do you know why? Because it was. That's how I am, and I have the track record to prove it. Want me to start a poll on whether or not posters on here think you hate the UFC?:rofl You can go ahead and start one on whether or not I love the UFC... I hope everyone votes yes, because I do. Just as I love strikeforce and I am a big fan of MANY of their fighters. I am also happy as hell to have a competing MMA organization because I think that's important for the fighters sake. I do wish we got to see some co-promoted events where they fought against each other... that would be amazing... but, I would guess it will never happen.

Really, is that why you where the one to introduce the whole "Pride fighters were overated and on roids" arguement into this thread of your own accord? I notice you didnt touch my point highlighting that the big UFC names from that that era have been even less sucessful, not that I'd take it as an arguement that they were all "overated" either.

Sorry mate but while I disagree with scurlaruntings over SF having a massive advanatge in quality at HW(in reality much is still unknown but I think they have more potential depth when it comes to elite fighters) your clearly posting like a grade A UFC fanboy in this thread and adding "I'm a fan of MMA" at the end of a post isnt going to change that, its like a landry list of tired old Sherdog forum arguements.

  14. UFC are like the ****in mob i swear. Keeping Sherdog reporters in danas line.

Surely fans of the sport can realize the talent of this tournament. Its all business isn't it.
