to be honest i think sturm/mundine will be a lopsided fight. Ive seen sturm fight and is nothing special. Mundine is better than him by a mile. Would have loved to see choc stay in SMW and take on Kessler again...
What's Mundine's idea of a 'worthwhile' opponent? Obviously not Kessler, or anyone else in the top 10 at SMW
Mundine should be fighting guys at least half decent like a Sakio Bika or Allan Green that people have actually heard of. Instead we get these unknown Argies & an old Middleweight Sam Soliman.
Yes I think people discredit Felix without really knowing his ability - you don't lose a world title and regain it from the bloke you lost it to without having something. I hope Choc would win this but it certainly ain't in the bag should a fight take place.
The bookies in Australia had Carlos Quintana at like close to $6 just for a win against Paul Williams.:yep Must better than the overseas bookies.
Sturm has looked decidedly average of late, though he looked better against Jamie. But I think he played a lot on Pittman's inexperience at the higher level in pro boxing. Its hard to say in a way, because we dont know how strong Mundine will be at middle. Some people are weakened by such moves. But it is clear that Sturm is the "weakest" champ at middleweight and on paper Choc should not have a hard time with him.
You could argue that Mundine's form warrants some doubt also of late, but your right since DLH, Sturm has shown nothing that would prevent Mundine's favouritism for sure.
I think we'll see a much weaker Choc at 160lbs. If he could make it easily, he'd be doing it now. People discount how much making weight takes out of you.
True but Choc never put in any effort to make SMW so if he drops he will only just start doing what other fighters have been doing... HE BOASTS of never having dieted before a fight, but Anthony Mundine will have to replace the hamburgers with health shakes for his planned drop to the middleweight ranks.... http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/ne...eighty-decision/2008/04/16/1208025282885.html
If this is true its a step in the right direction. I hereby announce a ceasefire on calling Choc out for a Guy Waters rematch and other general generic putdowns. However if it isn't true I'll be forced to sit up late into the night thinking of more non-witty and unfunny putdowns. Balls in his court.
