Lez copped a baptism of fire in his pro debut against Arama Tabuai....was knocked down 3 times in the 1st round....was never really hurt...he just got ambushed....the stoppages against Guy and Culey were more a case of lifestyle factors outside the ring (eg:a 19 year old kid ad******g to life on the Gold Coast) interfereing with Lez's physical and mental preperation and in his title defence against Pittman...well Lez will say so himself...he was just a litte bit overrawed by Pittman's experience and class...it was a steep learnig curve for Lez who got by on natural ability for so long...he's only really started to learn to fight in his last 10 or 12 fights.
yeah to me Pittman was never quite the same since Sturm....it sounds like he's breathin' fire again at the Grange....booked to fight on oct 31st...on fox...should be interesting to see where he's at.
I'm pretty sure Sherro didn't have much of an amatuer career. He's very much learnt on the job. I saw his loss to Jamie Guy way back when. He's not even close to that kid anymore. Not too many train as hard as Les, he deserves whatever success comes his way.
Won 16 from 17 fights Ippy....lost his 2nd bout as 16 year old to the experienced Tyrell Cameron...then just bashed everybody else enroute to 2 AABL light heavyweight titles....I don't even think he could spell 'JAB' back then let alone do one.
That's classic Nader....you don't need a search party to find him....Lez will need to bring his A game.
...quite the contrary really....the best way to handle Nader is to use the ring abit...box around....in and out....fast hands....don't let Nader drag you (lez) into a brawl....I reckon anyway.
