Who is number one p4p in women's boxing? Claressa Shields, Amanda Serrano, or Katie Taylor? I've noticed most people acknowledge that Serrano and Taylor deserve to be in the discussion, but Shields doesn't get her just due.
Savanah Marshall is better than all of them and has far more KO`s, neither Taylor or Shields have any kind of power in their punches at all.
Taylor for me. I feel that Shields is sometimes a victim of her own personality. Plus her resume isn’t as strong. Wasn’t her road to being undisputed at middleweight just a bunch of vacant titles?
Right now, this minute.. based on achievements I'd go with Katie Taylor. But I agree with @mark ant its only a matter of time before Marshall is the number 1.
Lauren Price looks really good, and given how quickly women are moved through the ranks she’ll be in the mix in no time if/when she goes pro.
Come on, man. Maybe those fighters have potential, but achievement-wise, they aren't even close to the fighters in the OP.
Jessica McCaskill beat Cecilia Braekhus twice, who I rate higher than all three of the fighters you listed, Estrada's wins are also equally impressive as Serrano's, and Marshall doesn't have a great resume, but she sure as hell beat Rankin and Lindberg a lot more impressively than all of the supposed "names" beat them. At the very least, the first two should be added to the conversation.
Absolutely, she's the best or will be for sure. She fights more like a man than any of the other female boxers I have seen.
Ebeneezer Bridges for me. You asked who is number 1. That's my answer. If you mean in BOXING, no question, it's Clarrisa Shield.
It's women's boxing so the truth is that McCaskills wins over Braekhaus are on their own easy to argue for her being top woman right now. McCaskill should get the nod as being on the Mt.Rushmore at the moment with the ones you have listed.
On a podcast today I heard Thomas Hauser say someone had done the research and discovered they're are more recognized titles in woman's boxing than there are licensed women boxers.
McCaskill should get a mention. She beat the woman who was considered to be the best at one time, not once but TWICE!
