I grew up in a Texas Children's home with a Guy named Roy Flynn. Roy was not a real boxer but he did have a little training. He would tell us stories about an old Boxer named Shifty who taught him a few things here, and there. I think his last name is Dandoe but I cannot be sure. One day Flynn was working out on the heavy bag, and Shifty came over to him, and said: "That's not how you do it; you gotta make those chain sing!" Well, Roy showed me what Shift taught him, and I am starting to believe that I am the holder of a lost secret. I am now 60 years old, and I can still make those chains sing on a heavy bag. You should see how I can still make that heavy bag dance. Years ago I watched a few boxing videos of Shifty on the Internet, and I also read a few articles from some old Newspapers. Now all that information has vanished! I have been looking, and it seems that Shifty has been erased from history. Shifty did not seem to have a prominent career but he was well known in his time. He seems to have lost as many fights as he has won. Shifty also showed Roy some of the old bare knuckle moves in boxing, and its stiff arm lethal uppercut form. Now that takes some strong forearms. So anyway; do any of you have any knowledge on how to find some information on Shifty? I wanted to write a story on him but it seems that I'm in living in the "Twilight Zone!"
