Sometimes I hate this sport. Rest in peace, Shigetoshi Kotari.

Damn, Japanese boxers seem to die every year now. I think drastic changer are coming to the sport in Japan.

Absolutely awful. 2 fighters dead from the same card. That’s already too much to bear. There needs to be some kind of investigation.

    RIP to both these gladiators.

Jeez, this is terrible. Feel awful for their families. RIP.

Just want to point one thing out. If you are adding a RIP to this thread. and you've lately been calling Dubois a quitter, just take a look in the mirror. Not too much judgement or anything, just think about whether we really want fighters going out on their shields or not.

ok, I’ve got to throw a like here. I guess the counterpoint is that it should be the corner or the ref stopping the warrior. That said, ok, from a certain point of view, Dubois knew his ass was kicked and it was only going to get worse for him so why not be able to exit the ring upright. Because, yeah, from that point? Hurt as he was? Usyk would have swarmed him. End result would have been the exact same.

As to Japanese boxing, absolute tragedy, RIP to both men. But let this change something. Refs and corners need to jump on and stop fights. When it’s apparent a man can do nothing but go out on his shield, STOP THE FIGHT, doesn’t matter how much he wants to go out on his shield.

It is a dangerous sport and often a cruel one as well.

    RIP both.

A time for reflection for some of the armchair heroes so quick to question the courage of warriors who take to the ring and put it all on the line.
