Have to say, I'm rooting for him tonight but "G.E.S." is among the most painfully uncreative ring monikers I can ever remember coming across.

"GGG" at least is alliterative, looks cool written down and can be rendered "Triple Gee" when spoken aloud.

GES doesn't roll off your tongue, isn't even a pun or reference to anything. It just stands for Guido Emmanuel Schramm. At that point just...don't even have a nickname.

 

Round 3

Schramm is doing good body work that all the ShoBox commentators are neglecting to mention, but he is getting countered by short uppercuts as Brown takes half-steps outside. Brown is getting pelted on the sides by wide hooks, and hit on the mouth occasionally by sneaky jabs from Schramm between the gloves. Brown sticking the jab on the forehead, swiping laterally across his chest-line with a quick left hook - mostly a deterrent - and landing some body shots of his own in the clinch.

Farhood has it 29-28 Brown, but acknowledges that both of the rounds for him have been close and you could easily have it for Schramm.

 

Round 4

Schramm is slugging on the front-foot, whacking the body with sidewinders and trying desperately for overhands to cave in Brown's skull from above, but no accuracy when he brings the punches up. Brown, on the other hand, is starting to jack Schramm's jaw in every direction with counters - both hooks and short looping rights. Good body work from Brown with the uppercut as well.

Round 5

Schramm is throwing big windmilling haymakers to push Brown across the ring. Schramm is trying hard, with underhand power shots at the midsection doubled up on, but they're checked on the forearms of Brown and countered with hook & uppercut combos. Schramm is stepping in with a low spearing right hand and is smacked across the cheek with a counter left hook. Brown is gathering Schramm into a smothering clinch after blocking his body shots, then raising the right hand and thumping it down on Schramm's neck before stepping out with a parting left hook.
