Shingo Wake is a 5'8 27 year old Super Bantamweight with a 17-4 2 Draws 10 KO's record. Born in Okayama City, Okayama, Japan and fighting out of Tokyo, Japan. Don't let the 4 losses on his record fool you, Wake should not be underestimate as a legit threat to anyone in the division. While he does have those losses the first 2 were razor thin, one a MD and the other a 1 point victory for the opponent in 4 rounders. The other two were a little more problematic but they were 8 rounders, but he did turn pro at the very young age of 19, and he's went through some growing pains that hopefully he's finally gotten past. All of you need to sit up and take notice of Shingo Wake because its looking very likely that he will be the next opponent for Senor Rigondeaux in Japan possibly sometime in the Summer. And he is not one to be taken lightly like many seemed to do with Amagasa, who as you all know by now dropped Rigo in their fight. Well Wake is far more skilled than Amagasa and in my estimation a slightly bigger puncher. Add to that his awkward fighting which relies heavily on speed and he's a southpaw, his style is vaguely reminiscent or Maravilla Martinez which can get away with because he's fairly fast. So is he capable of cracking Rigo's glassy jaw, Check Him Out and make your Assessment. :toney:toney:toney:toney

Yeah most likely but he's a far better opponent than Amagasa and he was seconds away from possibly stopping Rigo, crazier things have happened.

Amagasa shunned him pretty bad before the second throw/knockdown watch it back its real quick but Rigo was badly hurt right before the bell rang.

    And Thanks for the compliment.:good

Him being a long, tall southpaw with speed and power could prove to be a difficult style for Rigo.

These articles are becoming really annoying and pointless, where do you get the time to create them?

The Iwasa thing was an exhibition on "Boxing day" last year, Naoya and Yaegashi had one too. Wake and Iwasa are really close friends and we're sparring a few weeks ago too.

I'm probably the biggest Wake fan on here and I actually think he gives ANY of the top guys I the division a nightmare.

Wake looks about 5" taller than Paypa at the weigh in... Going to be an easy nights work in a few hours and the it's on to butchering the Jackal in summer.
