Round 1

Santillán is squatting and looking to plant a right hand on the body. Yamanaka is checking him with right jabs and stepping to his left. Santillán probes upward with the left jab from a tight guard over his face. Southpaw 1-2 by Yamanaka, backing Santillán off in a retreating crouch.

Round 2

Santillán is staying low, pressing in, wearing a close-fitting leather helmet. Yamanaka is lining up the 1-2, moving on the outside, raining down on Santillán's upper skull with his right jab. Santillán is still looking to drill down on his right hand to Yamanaka's midsection but is wary of the left cross.

Round 3

Santillán is backing up, swirling left hooks up from the hip and cutting across in Yamanaka's path, just warning shots, never timed for connection. Yamanaka is pressing forward, measuring with the long right jab on Santillán's brow, turning him, and catching him before he can square up, hosing Santillán with the left cross descending upon his chin and crunching it down into his chest. Santillán is standing up to Yamanaka's flushest punches fairly well, but eating a lot of them. Santillán not really finding any opportunities to land the right due to Yamanaka's generalship.

Midway through R4 at this exact moment..

 

Round 4

Santillán is hurling right hands at the body like sandbags now, selling out, then rolling away low to exit the pocket as Yamanaka counters with the left. Santillán is growing more disjointed in his attack, leaving gaps for Yamanaka to exploit, penetrating with the left cross & lead as Santillán crouches away from the right jab and separates or lowers his gloves looking to load up.

Round 5

Santillán is serving himself up on a silver platter. Yamanaka has bloodied his face with the clean, accurate, straight & powerful ramrod left. Santillán is reduced to dropping an even further level from his standard crouch, knuckles almost dragging along the canvas as he sweeps either arm in with desperate swipes at the body. Yamanaka remains upright and mobile, untouched, peppering Santillán with right jabs between the eyes and setting up that left.
