For the record, this will be from 7:56pm-8:54pm JST (6:56am-7:54am EST) on Thursday, with just the main event to be aired unless it ends via early KO in which case they may show clips of the undercard .

    Heathens. :-(

    Asinine bullshit like this: http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=534343

...fetches thrice as many replies in ten hours as does a thread about Yamanaka (among the more exciting current world champs) taking on an undefeated puncher over the course of two months.

How many people who purport to like boxing aren't blithering idiots? My suspicion is the percentage is fairly low.

Well, I'm interested, I've not seen any of Yamanaka's fights before (I've certainly heard of him and seen some brief highlights but that's all) so this will be a good opportunity to see him in action.

And so this will be the only fight shown on TV? That's a shame.

Yeah, there's a fairly juicy undercard, too, featuring two hot super bantamweight prospects (Sho Nakazawa is 5-0 with four knockouts and taking a step up in class with a tough Mexican in Alexander Cazares; then you have Juiki Tatsuyoshi making his anticipated debut as the son of legendary Joichiro Tatsuyoshi - basically the Japanese version of Gatti, except he was better than Gatti - who is already something of a gym legend and has earned Nakazawa's respect in sparring)

Rumor is those bouts might be shown on tape delay on NTV G+, a subscription auxiliary channel. (which is great news for those in Japan, but international feeds are notoriously hard to unearth for G+)

NTV G+ will be airing the full card on the 19th (according to the Teiken website) some regional sister channel will also be showing Juiki's fight. The other debutant (Shuya Masaki) is said to be a VERY good prospect from what I'm told, Juiki is just getting attention due to daddy.

Juiki's test bout for those interested-

Notably on the same day in the same city there was also the test bout for Hinata Maruta but it seems no one filmed that one. According to Taka Maruta is the "next Ioka/Inoue/Tanaka".

I know we both follow Asianboxing and lets give them credit where it's due, they've almost ignored the Pac/May fight and treat it like most other fights. Credit there to now selling themselves out for the hundreds of hits it'd have got them

    :good

..and they could have totally gotten away clean, technically with deeming it genuine "Asian Boxing news", with Pac being Filipino and everything, and just spammed their site with Pacweather junk for traffic while ignoring the stuff that is their usual forte.

    Good shout.

What are their amateur pedigrees? (Tatsuyoshi, Masaki, Nakazawa or Murata)

    Don't think Tatsuyoshi has one
Masaki was a champion of some kind domestically, something like 64-8
    Nakazawa was 92-10 I think, a multi-time domestic champion
Maruta 55-11 (31) and won an U15 tournament among other things though from what I understand was holding his own with men whilst he was 16/17

Another guy Taka's raved about is Shohei Omori, he was apparently 11-8 in the amateurs o_O

:think Maybe he's a "style more suited for the pros" type?
