Was that really low? Though Blanquet was buying himself time.

Blanquet down, low blow? He meanders in a neutral corner for a bit. Time in. Yaegashi counters with overhand rights over Blanquet's jab. Blanquet switches to lead left hooks while circling. Yaegashi is pressing the attack, walking Blanquet straight back and slashing at his sides after making him duck with ramped straights over the head. Blanquet curling into a ball in retreat.

    10-9 Yaegashi

    59-55 Yaegashi

Yaegashi is scoring his left jab, bouncing around on his toes and darting in on Blanquet. Wide hooks to either side of the body from Yaegashi. Blanquet is creeping away, sticking the left jab out defensively and throwing out both arms in a pincer tying up Yaegashi when he can.

    10-9 Yaegashi

    69-64 Yaegashi

Down, with few seconds left. There goes the point deduction advantage for Blanquet. How do you score this, 9-9 ?

    Round 8

Clinch. Yaegashi is diving in with straight right leads to the body. The ref warns him to keep them up. No, point deduction! Yaegashi skips to his left and keeps it strictly above the chest, jabbing and slamming down with wood-chopper rights. Blanquet jabs and loops rights wildly leaning in, mostly looking to gum up the works of Yaegashi's offense rather than score himself. Blanquet is making it messy. Blanquet moves outside and paws a jab, lulling Yaegashi, then drops a big right hand as Yaegashi walks in. Yaegashi withholds at the last second. HARD right hand by Yaegashi, hurting Blanquet. Another right hand slashing down on the neck, followed by a left hook to the body. Blanquet is hurt. Glove scrapes the canvas - official knockdown!

    9-8 (10-8 Yaegashi minus deduction)

    78-72 Yaegashi
