    Round 1

Hasegawa is controlling range well early, moving and dropping straight lefty 1-2s on Martinez. Hasegawa is avoiding close distance; Martinez tries marching him down. In the final half minute a big overhand by Martinez connects and Hasegawa elects to go for broke, slugging out with him until the bell and landing but getting more hurt.

10-9 Hasegawa though Martinez surged late.

    Round 2

Martinez sticks his left jab in past Hasegawa's right, trapping him on the ropes. Martinez knifes Hasegawa in the belly with right hands and slams left hooks up into his jaw, abruptly dropping overhand rights on the other side, leaving Hasegawa overwhelmed. Hasegawa is dropped but refuses to quit. Hasegawa is taking lots of clean punches on the ropes, attempting to slip and counter but unable to gain freedom.

    10-8 Martinez

    19-18 Martinez

    Round 3

Body punches by Martinez, pressuring with double-fisted uppercut sequences. Hasegawa is countering bravely, throwing five or six punch bursts in between every step backward. HUGE LEFT HOOK by Martinez, strapping down across Hasegawa's jawline. Hasegawa takes it and keeps firing. Left uppercuts and straights by Hasegawa, shoeshining the body as Martinez leans forward into him and then lining him up for power shots on the face. Right hook by Hasegawa. Left hand by Hasegawa while sliding outside. Left hook by Martinez stepping toward him. Long left uppercut on the chest by Hasegawa.

    This is a WAR.

10-9 Hasegawa, nice comeback as Martinez seemed to run short on gas and have trouble connecting as often...though when he did it was hard stuff...

    28-28

    Round 4

Hasegawa is whipping in right hooks and looping lefts on the body, arching his spine, and then straightening up as Martinez advances on him, switching to a southpaw 1-2 landing flat on Martinez's forehead. Martinez is sweeping out lead hooks, cutting the air in front of Hasegawa. Body shots are more successful for Martinez, landing heavily. Hasegawa cut from a headbutt.

    10-9 Hasegawa

    38-37 Hasegawa

    Round 5

Hasegawa is landing hard left uppercuts on the breastplate of Martinez and flurrying as he backs out, right hooks and short lefts. Hasegawa uses head movement as Martinez loads up but fails to reach him, still applying intense nonstop pressure. Hasegawa skewers him with lefts on the belly after taking long steps outside, mastering range.

    10-9 Hasegawa

    48-46 Hasegawa

    Round 6

Hasegawa is doubling the right jab into Martinez's face and then falling in with the left cross, folding himself over a clothesline in front of Martinez. Pushes on the back of the head and clubbing rabbit punches (landing more with the forearm) by Martinez. Robert Byrd warns Martinez for the rough stuff when Hasegawa is bent over. He threatens a point deduction. Hasegawa keeps landing 1-2s moving in and dropping at the last moment. Martinez is getting frustrated, and dirtier. Headlock by Martinez. Hit on the break by Martinez, overhand right. Point taken. Time in. Hasegawa is pushed onto the ropes as Martinez explodes with jabs and hard chopping rights. Hasegawa ducks and covers, wilting. Hasegawa fights his way free and runs around the ring, crouching on the outside and throwing flurries into Martinez's midsection. Hasegawa throws left hands and right hooks from a tight guard on the backfoot, springing at the knees. Hasegawa's balance looks shaky as Martinez hammers at him, not as busy and more selective (and inaccurate) with his shots but clearly doing more damage.

10-8 Hasegawa, barely - almost reverted to a 9-9 in the last thirty seconds (10-9 Martinez minus the point)

    58-54 Hasegawa
