Shinsuke Yamanaka vs. Stephane Jamoye & Kiko Martinez vs. Hozumi Hasegawa RBR

Stay off Twitter, avoiding spoilers. :verysad I already knew Hasegawa was about to be kayoed in the 7th at the start of the 6th by stupidly having Twitter in another browser tab (comparing my scorecard with others').

 

Round 1

Yamanaka is sticking the hard right jab into Jamoye's head and then dragging his lead right foot back to reset. Jamoye turns aside, cricking his neck so that Yamanaka's jab scuffs his sideburns, grazing. Jamoye steps forward and then circles rapidly to his left, pumping left jabs. Left hand leads on the body by Yamanaka. Jamoye is hit with a right jab at long range and swats with a big wide left hook, not coming close as Yamanaka sidesteps while reeling in the jab. Yamanaka is using fakes and twitches on the outside. Hard 1-2 on the belt line by Yamanaka. BUDI BUDI BUDI!! Jamoye is backed up on his toes after dancing into a 1-2 up top. Clinch. Yamanaka jabs as Jamoye comes forward, blocking. Jamoye throws a few punches to back Yamanaka into the ropes at the bell.

Round 2

Yamanaka is landing hard 1-2s on the body, finding the narrow space remaining between Jamoye's tucked-in elbows and his trunks. Jamoye is trying for jabs and hooks up top, covering his face and dipping and weaving in but unable to quell the body counterattack. Yamanaka sidesteps a swatting hook. BIG LEFT HAND UP TOP BY YAMANAKA. Jamoye is down hard. Jamoye gets up and starts pumping left jabs, circling. Yamanaka sticks with the working formula, 1-2s on the body. A minute left in the 2nd. Jamoye tosses in a looping right on the side and hops outside. Long right hand by Jamoye, in and out. Yamanaka catches him at the end of a 1-2. Jamoye looks to jab in and clinch. Left hand up top by Yamanaka, blocked. Right jab by Yamanaka. Right hand by Jamoye, parachuting in.

Round 3

Yamanaka is backing up and putting the right jab up to blockade as Jamoye comes in dropping rights on the body and sweeping up left hooks. Yamanaka is holding the right out fully extended and using it to dial his way around Jamoye while pushing against him with his knuckle pads. Looping right by Jamoye misses as he is held at the end of Yamanaka's right and turned. The ref warns Yamanaka for the tactic. 1-2s on the body by Yamanaka, ducking away from a Jamoye chopping right. Yamanaka flips up right jabs and makes a matador turn.

Round 4

Yamanaka is repelling Jamoye with up-shot flurries, well-timed as Jamoye comes in with left hooks or clap-down rights. Yamanaka is countering effectively with straight lefts on the face. Jamoye keeps approaching, headhunting, backed off invariably by left hands downstairs. WILD hooking right by Jamoye leaping into Yamanaka as he passes the ropes, getting hung up over them himself. Yamanaka is circling wide around the ring. Both throw a 1-2 moving in and their heads clash loudly. Ouch. Jabs on the body by Jamoye. Yamanaka lands a 1-2 and Jamoye wobbles, quickly backing up. The crowd smells blood and starts getting rowdy. Jamoye sells out with big right hands as Yamanaka keeps lining up the 1-2 at mid-range.

Round 5

Yamanaka is letting Jamoye whet his whistle and score a few jabs, lining him up for powerful straight lefts to head and body. Jamoye is twisting in with the right hand on the chest but not getting much torque on it and finding the champion too jittery in his motions to hit cleanly. Yamanaka is visibly hurting Jamoye with every left hand now. Jamoye jabs and backs out. Yamanaka jabs him into the ropes.

Round 6

Yamanaka hurts Jamoye with a HUGE LEFT CROSS. Jamoye slouches over and stumbles across the ring, drooping. Yamanaka moves in for the finish but Jamoye collects himself just in time. Jamoye backs into a corner, guard up. Wild haymaker by Jamoye stepping forward, buying himself a clinch. Center ring, Jamoye flurries on the body and throws a wide left hook up top. Yamanaka pushes him off with the right jab. The ref takes a point from Yamanaka. Time in. Double jab by Jamoye. Yamanaka dances in with his right arm low, reining up short and backing out again. Yamanaka is toying with Jamoye. 1-2 and right hook flurries by Yamanaka. Jamoye is still rattled. Double jabs up top, right to the body from outside by Jamoye. Short jump inside attempting to clinch by Jamoye, but Yamanaka turns him aside. Left on the body by Yamanaka. Right jab brushed across the face lightly by Yamanaka. 1-2-1-2 by Yamanaka, the first couple knocking Jamoye's gloves apart, the next two landing and backing him up. 1-2 by Yamanaka after stalking Jamoye across the ring.

Round 7

Yamanaka is throwing hard lefts - uppercuts and chops across the chin. Jamoye is scrabbling inside and flailing both arms up at Yamanaka' head in the clinch. Break ordered. Double jab by Jamoye. Looping right by Jamoye. Sharp 1-2 on the body by Yamanaka. Jamoye down while moving forward and flurrying, slip. Yamanaka nails him with a 1-2. Left hand lead, right hook. Another left, bursting through Jamoye's guard. Yamanaka backs the challenger into the ropes. Hard left on the chest as Jamoye sags his right shoulder into the ropes and turns from Yamanaka. Jamoye lands a left hook coming forward, clipping Yamanaka on the jaw. Jamoye is now pressing forward! Hard 1-2 on the body by Yamanaka. The ref warns him for 'going low'.

Round 8

Yamanaka lands a HUGE LEFT HAND - mostly on the shoulder, knocking Jamoye clear across the ring!!!!!! Jamoye is up - but how?? Jamoye fires the right hand coming forward, parrying Yamanaka's jab with a left hook, locking hilts and intentionally tangling up. Yamanaka is just whipping in the left hand, body and head, agonizing Jamoye. Yamanaka snakes out right jabs as Jamoye backs up across the ring in a crouch and tight guard. Yamanaka is cutting to his left and throwing his 1-2 from a side angle. Jamoye is hit by another left and tries hooking to cover his escape off to the side. ONE MORE LEFT HAND, Jamoye sent flying onto the seat of his pants again.

Round 9

Throwaway right jab by Yamanaka as they meet in center ring to answer the bell. Jamoye catches it on his guard, failing to see Yamanaka's trap. BIG LEFT HAND LEAD DELIVERED STRAIGHT INTO JAMOYE'S STOMACH, DOWN AND OUT!
