    1. He gets paid from CBS. His purse isn't being paid by SHO. Espinoza made that clear on his twitter. SHO is paying for his opponents purses not his. His deal is with SHO/CBS.

    2. He's guaranteed 32 million at minimum. It already has a 15 million dollar gate. That's a remaining 17 million dollars that the event has to generate. At a price of 75 dollars which is the price in the US. It could do 700,000 buys, and it would still generate $52,500,000. You take his extra 17 million out of there for his purse. And thats still $35,500,000. And that's at a bare minimum of 700k buys, which in all likelihood it would bring in more than that. If the fight brings in the million its expected too. thats $75,000,000. Where the hell is the SHO losing money? They're making more money than they ever have. Fro their to be a negative differential. With the PPV price, this card would have to do 400k buys.

    400k times 75 = $30000000 plus the live gate = 45,000,000.

Even then there'd still be a profit. His purse isn't big enough for them to take losses. This fight would have to tank on some next level s--t for them to take a loss. Maybe something like 350K buys. CBS isn't stupid.

Well...seeing that Showtime is owned by CBS...they are pretty-much one in the same, right?

Remember about 50% of ppv revenue goes to the cable companies. I agree though with your point.
Thanks for alerting us on how Floyd gets paid, I didn't know that.

You are leaving out the fact that the PPV buys don't go 100% to Showtime. Comcast, Intl feeds, etc all get a cut; The gate doesn't either.

I believe Mayweather-Guerrero did 900k and it was a net loser so I'm guessing that it will need to do better than that. I think the price might have been less for Mayweather-Guerrero, I'm guessing that is going to hurt the buys but it might make up for it with the higher cost. Like if the Mayweather-Maidana does 800K @$75 is more than 900K at $60.

We'll see, my guess is the show loses money for CBS. Mayweather isn't going to draw huge PPV numbers against the Maidana's, Guerrero's, and Ortiz's of the world. The B-side needs to bring a fan base.

How many late buys (within 24 hours before the fight) do you usually get?

the Ortiz fight did 1.25 million buys and generated over $70 million. I'd say that's pretty successful

Guess who doesn't give a **** about how much Mayweather or showtime earn? I'll give you a massive clue it's me and the rest of boxing watching population who couldn't care less about what other people earn.

Floyd got a 25 million dollar guarantee for the fight. He got the extra 15 million because the ppv was successful.
