SHO doesn't control or pay fighters. They just air the fights.

    Of course Showtime doesn't pay the fighters.Showtime pays GBP(the promoters) the rights fee and GBP pays the fighters.

    Fighters should care, very much.
    If they sign with the wrong promoter, they could be locked out of some key fights as well as not receive fair compensation for their skills.

    I was just thinking about this new network arrangement yesterday and how Al Haymon has positioned himself in between the networks, and the fighters as an Advisor to both.
    Al's taking a small chunk, but he is receiving tons of checks.

    Fans pay Showtime, who pay GBP, who pay their fighter. It's not rocket science.
