The only reason I gave the Kimura the 1st and 6th is because his punches did more damage, they were clearly the heavier shots, but yeah, even is perfectly fine.

Your re-score was almost identical to my original scorecard.

I had rounds 4 & 7 scored the other way. That's 10 rounds exactly the same. That's more than the official judges managed.

I think taking the belt off a guy who won it against an Olympic gold medalist on the strength of that performance was a tough call.

Perhaps the fact that it was fought in the challenger's backyard played its part.

A lot of Tanaka's best combinations were straight into Kimura's gloves.

Without a shadow of a doubt. Like with GGG-Canelo the other day, the 12th round decided the match, in the case of this match the one guy that had it 115-113 for Tanaka, gave him the 12th, that he did not win. Had he scored it right, it would've been a draw and Sho would have retained.

A draw & a rematch would have been fine. I hope he gets the rematch.

He should get something for being willing to defend in the other guy's backyard & ending up on the wrong end of a tough decision.

Lol give it a rest my man.
It was a great fight that I watch from my iPhone while working.
I think scores between 116-112 tanaka to 115-113 kimura are defendable.
When they go toe to toe it's 50-50.
When tanaka decided to stick and move a bit, it depends on your liking whether you deem it as effective to win some of those rounds.
I'm the end I think the judges scoring reflect the fights evenly.

@IntentionalButt I really, really, really want to know your score for this fight. I thought it was the mini me version of Canelo-GGG 2, it was an amazing match, with both men holding their own, aside from about 4 rounds, the match was ridiculously hard to score. Kimura was picking off shots the entire fights, jabbing well and countering surprisingly well for a face first brawler, showing far more wrinkles than he has before. Tanaka did his thing, landing the more eye catching, yet often deflected work.

And my scorecard was 114-114, why exactly were you trolling me then?

Nobody was trolling. I made a statement and gave my opinion (which differed from yours).....u responded by calling me a dickhead. No need to explain myself any further. I happened to like 3 out of around 20 posts from a fellow poster and next thing u started remarking on it.
