    Round 3

Perez lands jabs to the face and body while peeling back and jerking his neck away to take away all of Meza's long ponderous shots. Meza is eating lots of jabs and walks directly into a dizzying right hand lead. Perez is backed to the ropes but is still the only one landing, just scoring with his jab and looking relaxed but making haste to bounce off the ropes and not get trapped as Meza breathes down his neck. Perez keeps sliding back and circling, jabbing and hooking a bit wide as he turns Meza. Body hooks by Meza and one goes too low. Meza gets warned. Meza's eye is trickling blood. Meza has slowed down and is reaching with selective body shots now, coming forward with more calculated stalking. BIG counters by Perez keep rocking Meza's head around. Nice bobbing and weaving on the outside by Perez, before ducking inside to land a three punch combo.

    30-27 Perez

So much for Farhood's padded Colombian record theory. :yep

****, he might be the best Colombian boxer not only in his division (the only competition being Walter Estrada), but pound for freaking pound. Julio is the only argument. Everyone else is a puncher...or at least not a sharp boxer.

Aside from the wobble, Perez controlled the round.

    40-36 Perez.

    Round 4

Double jabs by Meza. Counter hook coming off the ropes by Perez. Ducking down and backing up, Perez flurries with high hooks. Meza tries to slide forward and surface on Perez at close quarters, but keeps sliding face-first into hard right hands. Nice double hook by Perez, but Meza lands a straight right at the same time and has Perez backing up a bit wobbly. Perez holds. Meza bashes away at him. Another right hand. Perez circles to his left and tosses out lead hooks with his arms down and head bobbing. Nice hooks to the body by Perez. Meza throws a big hook and Perez slips it by bending back at the waist. Jabs to the body by Perez. Big right hand by Meza just misses and he ducks quite by accident under a Perez hook. Jabs from Perez, standing in and only taking a backward step when Meza gets right on top of him. Meza eats jabs and finally starts to dip side to side to avoid them. Perez lands a lead right to the body and then an uppercut tipping inside. More jabs by Perez backing up.

    40-36 Perez

Perez has one of the best jabs Ive seen in a while. Not just how fast he snaps it out there and how fast he then gets it back, but the power on that damn jab at the same time.

Ref called that Meza cut a headbutt. I agree with Gary Shaw who just yelled "What the ****!"

Seemed to me that big right hand by Perez towards the end of the round opened it up.

    50-45 Perez.
