Art has done nothing to slow Acosta down. Too much head-hunting.

    Round 8

Hovhannisyan works his rotator cuff, stretching a right hand out very high, easily dodged by Acosta stepping off to the side. Acosta is jabbing on every slide step over to his left. Double jab. Hovhannisyan tries to catch him with a sneaky overhand right but Acosta sees it coming and leans off. Acosta doesn't run, even as Hovhannisyan comes leaping in with hooks. Just gives enough space for Hovhannisyan to land his feet, then steps around him smoothly and jabs. Acosta waits by the ropes and then sticks a jab in Hovhannisyan's face, easily outreaching past Hovhannisyan's slowly unfurled left jab. Acosta using great movement, just misses an uppercut at the crouching target.

    10-9 Acosta

    75-75

Acosta is much slower and can't pull the trigger like he use to. Most obvious sign of a shot fighter.

Art H. looks befuddled out there. He doesn't know what to do.

Hov made hte round closer in the last minute, but Acosta dictated the round, and kept the jab pumping enough to take the round, along with his combinations.

    Round 8 goes to Acosta.

4-4 even! KD round a piece so all square!

Very close. Acosta's experience has to count for something down the stretch

    Round 9

Acosta is stepping out, jabbing long into Hovhannisyan's face, skittering to his left, moving in with jabs and body feints to keep Hovhannisyan quiet, and stepping off some more. Hovhannisyan is just plodding in and leaping with hoks by turns, neither effective. Acosta jabs through a spray of wild punches from Hovhannisyan, but gets clipped by a looping shot backing up. Acosta keeps his gloves up between jabs, responsibly defending. Acosta is now coming forward, leading. Acosta jabbing and turning Hovhannisyan.

    10-9 Acosta

    85-84 Acosta
