    Round 5

Santiago is now drawing Morales in, standing as bait and then turning to the side and putting his jab out to greet him. Morales keeps walking into jabs, but is hitting the body when he bursts past them. Santiago starts to get away from the jab and try to time right hands, but his heart isn't in it. Weak jabs pushed out by Santiago, and a wavy hook. Morales is still ripping the body coming forward, keeping Santiago in a corner. Santiago getting ragdolled around by Morales' body punches now.

    10-9 Morales

    50-44 Morales

Santiago is game. He's at a power deficit though.

    :think

Acosta vs. Hovhannisyan = Taylor vs. Abraham? :think

(quick talented and somewhat slick boxer-puncher, always had slight issues with his chin, which is now cracked and he's shot with no more reflexes...against an Armenian low-volume waiter/plodder/puncher...)

    Round 6

Morales is bending over to his left and hooking the body. Santiago is catching him coming in with right hands. Morales is shaken for a moment, but regroups and comes forward. Big shots traded, and Santiago's gum shield comes out. Time in. Morales tosses some high shots with a bit of curl on them. Might be tired. Santiago still looks fresh. Santiago bouncing in and out, feet close together. Santiago stretches his jab out, feigning to get Morales ducking against the ropes. Short little taps on the inside by Santiago, and a counter right hand flush as Morales overreaches. Jabs by Santiago.

    10-9 Santiago

    59-54 Morales

Good stuff in round 6. Nice defensive ability shown by Morales at the end of the round, so he's not completely deficient in that regard.

Santiago did say in his fighter plan interview that he intended to drag Morales into deep waters and get him to gas. :think

He may be regretting this not being a 10-rounder..

Showtimes Next Generation alway has great scraps. I love it. Might be the most consistent boxing cards I have ever seen.

    Round 7

Morales had adjusted to Santiago's up-close boxing, crouching back and springing up with his 1-2. Santiago getting clocked. Right hand counter by Santiago. Morales knocked back, oohs and ahhs from the crowd. Morales is coming forward, jabbing at chest level and then launching high right hands to the face as Santiago peels off. Morales steps in, throws some arm punches to the frontside. Santiago jabs and leers at Morales, showing his gum shield. Cuffing wrist-shots to the chin as they flurry together.

    10-9 Morales

    69-63 Morales
