The Showtime crew seems to have viewed the 6th as a black and white Gonzales round. :blood It was better, but still a close round.

I cannot see this at all. 4-2 at the least. For Duran.

    Round 7

Duran is dipping at the knees and letting his upper body droop to either side as he comes forward. Gonzales flurries and steps back. Duran tries to follow with a right hand to the body but can't reach. Gonzales is tossing out jabs and cannonball rights from the outside, looking very relaxed. Duran marches him to the ropes and smothers him, not punching. Gonzales clinches several times before Duran can get anything going. Gonzales backs up and blocks a few jabs, but eats a big overhand right. Clinch. Right hand to the guard, left hook to the body by Gonzales as he takes a confident step forward.

    10-9 Gonzales

    68-65 Duran

Ossie had the best touch of the 7th, but just one.

    Round 7

Gave the round to Gonzales, he controlled the action again and landed nice combos and got out the door before Duran could throw anything of note back at him. Duran landed a nice left I think but not enough to win it.

    4 - 3 Duran

This is pretty much how the first fight would have looked like if Molina decided to move and try and box.

Round 7, again Duran the bigger guy really effects Gonzales when he does land, but he isn't throwing enough. While Gonzales seems to be the ring general and is throwing punches.

Bad time for an interruption. I'll stick with IB's scoring and give Gonzalez round 7.

The jab is winning Duran this fight tonight....Gonzalez just couldn't avoid it.

5-3 Duran could be 6-2 Excellent use of the jab and the guard. Gonzales has bad D.

    Round 8

Gonzales whips his arms out low and bent, half attacking the body and half trying to reign Duran in to hold him. Body shots by Duran, but sloppy and uncoordinated. Gonzales is jabbing Duran in the forehead from outside and letting his arms deflect some of Duran's wild body shots. Gonzales lands some jabs and lingers too long in front of Duran, getting pushed back to the ropes and ducking under some clubbing blows. Clinch. "STOP!". Clinch. "STOP!". Gonzales initiates all the clinches. Right hand by Gonzales diving into a grab. Duran is just trying to touch the body but throwing his arms very sloppily and looking tired, taking deep heaves in the clinches. Flurries by Gonzales. Left hook by Duran.

    10-9 Gonzales

    77-75 Duran

Both guys went all out in the last round, Duran carried it. I have it even.

Good, close fight. I think the scorecards should be tight.
