ShoBox: Claressa Shields vs. Nikki Adler RBR

When somebody has Shields' talent, harnessed by a great trainer who can adapt said talent into a transcendent skill-set, augmented further by a great personality and outside-the-ring crossover appeal.

Shields currently has just the 1 box ticked, of three, unfortunately.

I think he was saying pound for pound irrespective of gender. So yeah, p4p/g4g. It would take a SPECIAL woman to cross those boundaries.

Cecilia Brækhus is probably the only boxer I've ever been aware of about whom a good deal of knowledgeable analysts, fans, journalists and industry folk have said "yeah, she could beat ranked contenders in the male counterpart of her weight class in the pros".

Well, my theory is that eventually the political climate with all its virtue signaling and political correctness pushed to logic-bending extremes will result in authorities in many sports one by one caving to pressure to allow transgendered participants (competing against the gender they identify as, rather than were born as biologically), which in turn will have the domino effect of people saying "the hell with it" and dissolving the barriers to let co-ed sports gain acceptance. Once that happens, yeah, the 98% of the shallow talent pools you see in women's boxing, WMMA, the WNBA etc. will get pushed onto the backburners where it belongs (hidden behind all but the utter worst of the dregs of the fellas) while the absolute elite of the elite will find their place amidst the best of the male athletes, wherever that may be when the chips are free to fall where they may.

 

Look at the people she beat in her championship reign.

 

Yeah, her resume isn't remotely impressive for a titlist, was my point. Shields would have at least been mildly challenged by the UBF champ, Tori Nelson. Adler was easy meat.
