Shields is getting a little wild now, windmilling at Nelson full-power. Nelson is clipped a few times, buzzed slightly but able to screen out most of the attacks or repel them with her own parrying 1-2. Shields wasting lots of energy, looking a bit undisciplined, trying very hard for the early KO. Nelson is keeping pace with her and showing a good chin, throwing counters where she can. Shields grazed with a long right hand at the bell.

Round 3

Shields is throwing underhanded power combos at the waistline. Nelson comes at her in a straight line while loading up a 1-2 and is caught by a sudden overhand brought upstairs by Shields, making Nelson blink away the pain. Nelson is leaning forward, pinning her gloves to her temples and laying atop Shields, grinding into her attempting to force a clinch. Weak body punches by Nelson as Shields bops her on the side of the head with a hook. Shields now starts to calm herself down and pick her spots, throwing pot-shot jabs while sliding her feet back. Shields mixing in body and head shots effectively now. High powerful double jab by Shields, followed by a right cross piercing the guard.
