Wilder did look pretty nervous when Liakhovich stepped in and boldly thrust up the high jab. :think

There are some bad habits that need to be addressed. Quick blowouts won't help with that.

Liakovich really is in the Roy Jones version of shot I'm afraid.

That seems right to me. :good

I think if you had to wedge Thompson and Arreola in there somewhere, it would probably be Thompson right behind Jennings and Arreola toward the bottom (obviously below Mitchell if he loses to him; otherwise above him or maybe even Scott)

Then of course you have the enigmas: Mansour, because he is yet to ever face a true live body...Johnson and Hamer because they're so inconsistent and prone to lacking heart despite having the physical tools and ring IQ...and USS because who knows how the hard luck has affected his psychology (or how much his punch resistance was further degraded by all Fury's clubbing rabbit punches)

Those are pretty much all the names to cobble together a top 10. Maybe a Franklin Lawrence or Travis Walker down at the bottom. None of the old-timers belong in there anymore. McCall, Toney, Guinn, Rahman, Grant - all washed up.

It will probably be Travis Walker.

Wow didn't think that would happen. But Wilder is still not tested. Time willl tell I guess. It is time for hiim to step up more. He should fight Pulev next after Thompson beats him.

    Guess not.

Sergei was doing an extended rendition of the Montiel shuffle from the Donaire fight. Laid out kicking them legs.

Any chance we can still get a Chisora fight? Or is that totally off cause it has to happen in UK for money reasons

Impressive because Sergei had never been blown away but I still want
to see how Wilder takes a shot and at least a bit of adversity in the ring.

I hate to take a quote from a batman movie, but

"Peace has cost you your strength! Victory has defeated you..."

    I apply this to Wilder.

He could be in for a very rude awakening when he faces a true contender. People **** on the heavyweight division, but the lower contenders like Chisora, Stiverne, Jennings, Arreola, Fury, ect..... the guys Wilder is going to have to fight one of these days, they will not be getting blown out like this, and the jury is still out on whats going to happen when the opponent takes the punch, punches back, and starts making wilder uncomfortable.

I don't mean to be overly cynical here, but I have to say, Im still not a 'believer'.

But meh, that doesn't matter, and all that aside, Wilder fans couldn't have asked for more from Wilder than stopping Liak in the first round.

But I still think Wilders bandwagon is a chandelier waiting to fall. His team are building his name with these KO's and its working. But they better get him some rounds and some adversity before putting him in with a real contender or they are setting him up to fail.

    meh... just imo.

    Good job from Wilder.
