Charlo is spider-legging to his left, sticking the jab out into Smith's forehead. Smith is curling his left shoulder up and bowing over slightly to his right to roll with the jabs. Counter up-jabs by Smith at the taller Charlo. Smith isn't getting past the jab, getting hit when he slides forward with his. Charlo tries doubling and tripling the jab and scores the first one but finds the rest washing up on Smith's bicep and shoulder.

Is he just more physical or is Pedraza actually displaying skills for once?

 

Round 2

Charlo is letting Smith charge in low and run face-first into jabs. Smith pulls back and rolls himself outward, lifting and ramping up his left elbow to catch jabs. Charlo is aiming his jab over Smith's arms, tagging him high on the head. Smith is countered when he slides in and jabs from his leaned-back stance. Jab and hook by Charlo as Smith rolls away. Charlo is turning Smith and doubling the jab between the eyes. Right hand lead, Smith wobbled. Another big right hand behind a double jab reaching in, again countering over Smith's jab. Smith down. Nearly a minute left. Smith is on rubbery legs and moves forward to convince the ref he is OK. The ref doesn't buy it and waves his arms.
