Lara is holding up his right glove. Smith is forcing it down with his left. A little reverse tug-of-war in the middle of the ring. Hand sumo, if you will. Lara is first to back off. Lara explodes off the ropes with an accurate straight left lead, but then moves away without following up. Big left rip above the belt line by Smith. Lara is pushing out with the right jab as Smith tracks him with his left extended. BIG left hooks on the body by Smith, landing two. Lara is jogging away, stopping on a dime and flinging himself the opposite way. Double right jab by Lara, scoring a few times on Smith's face. Smith is marching in with the high guard, jabbing and parrying away Lara's jab.

Good interview by Smith, making no excuses, giving Lara credit.

He says he did all he could do and felt like he got in some good body rips but that Lara has a very effective amateur-like style making him difficult to hit clean and racking up points even though everything was light.
