Berto was lucky to officially beat Collazo, and Collazo lacks the equalizer. El Riel has a very good shot.

Hernandez can punch.... therefore he has a chance with Berto.

Zaveck would eviscerate Hernndez. Hernandez has NO chance. No business getting in the ring with such a skilled Eurotalent

Just got home from covering these fights. Poor Mike is just way too short and stocky against guys with range and height (most everyone he fights) at this level. I thought it was a tad early stoppage, but seeing the replay at home I can agree with it.

The most impressive KO of the night thought was Dirrell. He throws hard with both hands nearly every single punch. I hope he remains active, I'm looking forward to watching him against tougher opposition.

Overall, good night at the fights...wished better for Mikey, but it was a tough go.

I've been interested about Anthony Dirrell for a while. What's his style like? Hopefully it's nothing like his brother's. :yep

How did Chris Avalos look? Losing to Christopher Martin must have taken the wind out of his sails, he had confidence to spare as an unbeaten prospect. That's a bit harsh that he's now relegated to off-TV undercards.

Anthony Dirrell throws almost every punch with bad intentions behind it. I've wondered how this style will work against top opponents, but against this level it's very effective and exciting. Funny you said you hope he's not like his brother. I had never seen him fight before, and my boss at the website said, "you'll like this Dirrell, he actually fights," lol. I think Andre is an excellent fighter, but I think Anthony has a different kind of excitement value about him, and I hope it translates well to top fights.

The Avalos fight was very weird. The guy he fought, Almanza had no intention of fighting tonight. In the first round the only meaningful punch he threw was a low-blow. In the second he danced around the ring the entire time, refusing to engage, again the only meaningful punch he threw was a low-blow. In the third Almanza went down with a body shot, he complained it was a low blow. Robert Byrd asked him repeatedly if he wanted to continue, and all Almaza did was say it was a low blow. Byrd had enough, and waived off the fight. Officially it's a 3rd round TKO, but could have just as easily been a DQ. It's hard to gauge how Avalos looked in that fight, as his opponent was clearly not there to fight tonight.

    Hope that helps!

edit: by could have been a dq, I mean, Almanza could have been DQ'ed as he didn't want to fight. The shot Avalos landed wasn't a low blow.
