Nieves pushes the pace early working behind his jab backing Santiago up, gets his jab on track and stuffed it in Santiago's face the majority of the round, Santiago attempted a few overhands late but not enough.

Nieves and Santiago both come out looking to land their shots, Santiago takes the play away giving Nieves angles and spinning him, ultimately outworking Nieves.

Nieves aggressive at start landing hard straight rights, backing Santiago up, Santiago lands jaw jacking hook that hurts Nieves, Nieves backs along the ropes and Santiago bosses him around the ring beating him down for the rest of round.
