Jonathan Cepeda vs. Lamar Russ, 8 rounds @ super middleweight

 

Round 1

Cepeda jabs at the longer body of Russ while dropping his head down. Solid jabs to the body by Cepeda, unloading combinations when he gets low inside. Cepeda is being a pest. Russ leans back, boxing tall, circling with his guard up and dropping his right hand behind a few light jabs. Cepeda tries to hook high and gets hung up on the guard of Russ. Cepeda wings a few wrist shots to the body and gets pushed back by right hands. Russ is lining up the 1-2. Cepeda rushes into a solid jab from Russ and gets rocked! Russ keeps working from outside, straight lefts and rights. Cepeda down from a 1-2. He beats the count at seven but gets waved off on his feet after stumbling in the opposite direction of referee Mike England! Cepeda is furious!

Round 1

Taylor scores two knockdowns with strong jabs and overhands rights while bullying Munoz around. Munoz tries to keep pace but is overpowered and facing a deficit in speed.

BIG straight right by Taylor off a set-up jab to the bottom lip. Munoz is lain flat.
