Round 2

Romero dances back and jabs into the face of Esquivias before vanishing off to the side. Esquivias tries to steady him with a jab to the chest and then slap with a right up top. Romero keeps moving, flicking the counter jab and dancing around Esquivias. Overhand right out of a crouch by Romero, tripled up, missing twice but landing once. Esquivias keeps whirring his fists into Romero's body but isn't holding him still. Counter jabs by Romero dancing away. Flush right hand by Esquivias! He doesn't quite steal it, however.

20-18 Romero

 

Round 3

Hard rights to the face by Romero, putting jabs behind them and allowing for a continuous stream of punches. Esquivias can't get by. Esquivias eats jabs coming forward, head rocking back. Esquivias tries to slip shots by twisting side to side on the way in with his left arm crooked low, but is getting hit with most of Romero's backfoot counters. Double jab by Esquivias, not reaching. Right hand over the top by Romero. Esquivias is ineffectively trying to cut the ring off.

Romero is like a mini-Caballero.

 

Round 4

Romero doubles the jab and then right hand into Esquivias' face while backing up and quickly circling, using lots of upper body leans while moving. Esquivias is following and lunging with high jabs, missing, getting countered, and trying combos as he falls in against Romero on the ropes. A couple of solid left hand digs to the body by Esquivias. Romero sticks the jab down low and then leans back out of Esquivias' range. A few underhanded wrecking balls to the body by Esquivias. Right hand counter lands flush on the chin for Romero. Esquivias flurries and misses coming forward. Romero drops another right hand on his face. NICE counter left hook by Romero while leaning over, bending sideways at the waist.

Round 5

Esquivias is slashing with lefts from the hip and rights over the top, leaving a wide lane in the middle through which Romero can drop counters while backing up. Esquivias keeps providing him the same silver platter, over and over, walking the taller man down but never connecting with anything but his body and even that obliquely as Romero dances circles around him and peppers his chin with double jabs and drops the odd right hand over the top.
