    Medina is pawing his jab and jumping uncharacteristically from the pocket. Jack is tentative but stalking in by increments. Body shots by Jack. Medina is put on the ropes and Jack lands some chopping rights and left hooks. BIG straight right on the nose by Jack, and Medina is plunked down. Medina beats the count but Jack immediately drills him with straight punches and drops him again. Medina is up again. Right uppercuts and left hooks by Jack, looking to finish. Medina is disregarding his corner screaming advice, begging him to hold. Medina instead slugs with Jack, hoping to land a hail Mary KO punch. Medina is plugging away with everything he's got. Flurries by Jack, but he is now somewhat arm-weary. Big left uppercut by Jack, flat on the bottom of the jaw, and Medina slumps into a corner.

    That was a heckuva fight between Jack and Medina!!! I had the fight scored for Medina through 5 rounds, 3-2 rounds, 48-47 points, giving Medina the first three rounds. Medina won his rounds with gorgeous body work, digging hard lefts and rights to the body, and incorporating them into combinations, body then head, head then body. Jack definitely on the back foot through the 3rd. Not sure if Medina then gassed, but beginning in the 4th round, he almost entirely abandoned his body work, and started fighting from distance, and Jack was gradually able to get on top, picking him apart with jabs and some nice combinations to the head. Medina had little left by the 6th, and Jack worked him over in devastating fashion with combinations to the head. The referee probably should have stopped the fight after the second knockdown, and definitely should have in hindsight, given the extra punishment Medina took after the second knockdown. I feel bad for Medina, not sure if he gassed because he fought 12 rounds just 2 months ago, but he said he knew about this fight for 2 months, so he should have had a full camp. But it was so strange that after all the body work he did in the first 3 rounds, he was the one that gassed from then onwards. Great comeback win for Jack.
