Lanardo Tyner vs. Chris Pearson, 8 rounds @ middleweight

 

Round 1

Tyner is fencing with Pearson, left jab vs. Pearson's right, lightly tapping knuckles on knuckles. Big wide left hooks on the body from Tyner. Pearson dances away, back and to his left, along the ropes. Tyner is holding the left arm straight up in the air, wiggling his wrist to feint his jab and parry Pearson's right jab every time it looks ready to drop. Tyner is pressuring, left arm held up and aimed at Pearson's face. Right jabs into the forearms and left cross on the stomach from Pearson while staying tall on the outside. Tyner keeps pressing him into the ropes and eats a right jab.

Round 2

Tyner is getting caught by long 1-2s on the outside while slowly approaching with the left arm held out and raised menacingly but with no jab, and no guard. Pearson isn't snapping the 1-2, just flicking it as he keeps his distance, catching Tyner on the top of the head. Tyner grins and nods as he comes froward. Tyner is jabbed in the forehead while extending his left forearm to intercept. Right to the belly by Tyner. Pearson pops a few right jabs into the face while turning Tyner and hitting the body. Tyner stuffs a few jabs up into Pearson's face while mugging him up close as Pearson is trying to spiral out.

OH ****, big knockdown by Tyner in the last moments of the sixth!!

Pearson got lazy anticipating Tyner coming in with the same-old-same-old attack, ate some big right hands on the kisser and cuffing left hooks across the back of the head. Tyner just exploded on him. Pearson saved by the bell.

 

Tyner is rocking Pearson's boots again in the last minute of the eighth and final round - but he is probably down too many points to pull it out even with a knockdown. He needs to finish Pearson and time is running out.

 

Pearson runs, runs, runs, until he runs outta room and has to stick the right jab squatting by the ropes to stand his ground as Tyner leaps in and reaches in firing long power combos. Pearson survives.
