Waste of a lot of good talents. Cary Elwes (who ironically redeemed himself for his AWFUL performance in a GOOD show, if you ever saw his cameo in the later seasons of the X-Files... ), whatsisface that played Jiggy himself, a few others.

That said, there were plenty of really crappy actors in that franchise as well.

And the writing...very disappointing (and preoccupied with how clever and precious they believed they were...ruining what had started out a very promising and interesting premise)

Wesley Ferrer vs. Steven Ortiz, 8 rounds @ lightweight

 

Okay, this walkout is making it so that any outcome besides Ferrer getting KTFO is going to disappoint me.

 

...huh, guess I was half an hour off; could've sworn it was supposed to be quarter past nine instead of quarter of ten. Oh well

Round 1

Ferrer is rowing out the left jab and getting checked by Ortiz's from outside. Ferrer jumps in and scrubs a jab against Ortiz's face but is backed out by a heavy right hand, which he blocks while scooting away. Ortiz is kicking both legs into simultaneous motion swinging into a gallop to & fro, drilling right hands into Ferrer's body. Diving left hook on the hip by Ferrer, pulling out quickly in the same forward bent crouch. Ferrer is fencing with Ortiz in the center of the ring, their wrists parrying against each other as each holds out an extended jab suspended in midair. Combo by Ferrer. They clinch and Ortiz pushes him onto the mat. Big looping right by Ortiz ducked. Clinch.

Having now heard the young man speak, my desire to see Ferrer get KTFO has quintupled.

 

Round 2

Ortiz jabbing in and working the body where he can. Ferrer is letting his neck cling like plastic wrap to Ortiz's inner arms every time Ortiz misses a shot past the head, sticking close to him and chafing in a clinch until the ref pries them apart. Ortiz is pawing a jab into the guard and feigning with an uppercut, and pulling back to cross his arms in a quick-thinking deflection of a sudden burst of slashing offense by Ferrer. Counter right hand by Ortiz.
