Ferrer is jumping in and crowding Ortiz, pressing his own chest against his opponents and driving him into the ropes but not doing very little effective infighting before they are separated. Ferrer dictating terrain but seems to not really know what to do with it. Ortiz just stepping back into the ropes, winging roundhouse counter rights as he catches Ferrer hurtling toward him, and then holding steady with his arms clasping Ferrer until the break. Ortiz is managing to shoot at just the right moment so that Ferrer, despite being the aggressor, hardly ever reaches him with his downward hacking combos flying in, while Ortiz is landing a very low percentage of his backfoot counters (and even those landing are only partially) but still, at least some.

This is trash, I see now how nefariously @CST80 planned this, he probably timed his meatloaf to be ready just in time for me to get stuck with the shittiest fight on the card (at least hopefully this is the low point)

Round 4

Ferrer is doubling his jab into the forearms and then plugging a right into Ortiz's body. Not much coming back from Ortiz in terms of clean scoring. Ortiz just playing catch & release as Ferrer catapults himself into his chest and initiates messy scrabbling melees against the ropes where neither man's fists are locating many legally counting surfaces on the other's person. Low blow, unintentional. Ferrer is burying all of his jabs into the guard, throwing away 3 or 4 just to plug one right hand downstairs before tying up and waiting on the ref. That is enough to give him a slight edge.

Stop arguing with the ref, Wesley, you obnoxious little puke, and do your job before you get sucker-punched. I want it to be clean when you get KTFO.

 

Even if the ref is Laurence Cole, the position still commands respect.

He's the authority between those ropes, and you, Wesley, are just an obnoxious little puke. You aren't Floyd Mayweather Jr., or somebody else that gets to banter with the ref and judges at ringside or whatever. You're nobody, and this is the most attention you will ever receive on the national stage and you're not impressing anybody.

 

Round 5

Ferrer is jumping in, one and done, jabs all blocked, some of his rights grazing the flank. Ortiz is looping a right as he slides his feet to give Ferrer room to land in the moat, and then once inside bashing down with the right in the clinch. Not much else happening in between LOTS and LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of wrestling.

Round 6

Ferrer is holding and hitting, barely legal shots, many just beside (or in some cases squarely on) the kidneys. Ferrer leaning & yanking down on the arms while smashing Ortiz in the small of the back with his other hand on the ref's blind side. Ferrer turning southpaw and back to orthodox in between jumps inside to hold & hit. Ortiz is managing to smoothly plant his rear foot and line up a nice counter right every now and then, but much too infrequently. Ferrer is having it his way.
