Round 1

González is patiently coiling the southpaw-slayer, telegraphing his intentions but still landing it sharply a few times as Ramos comes dashing in with the lefty 1-2, hoping to lean slickly outward at the waist dropping his upper half to his left but failing to react in time as González surprises him with hand speed & timing. Ramos is more cautious now, attacking from below and raising his right forearm, horizontally folded, to shield his face. González works the body and takes a big home run swing at the face with an uppercut, all while barking through his teeth with the effort. Ramos is caught by a couple of 1-2s on his right temple while baiting González, standing in front of him with his arms dangling by his knees and convulsing in body-feint twitches inside & out. Ramos tries rushing in with a combo but is met with a right hand.

I'm trying as hard as I can to root for the kid, because he's from Worcester, but...he's making it tough, for various reasons.

 

Round 2

González is barking and 1-1-2ing his way in, forcing Ramos into retreat but only sinking the jabs into his palms and not finding the head cleanly with the right cross, just scuffing the sideburns if anything. Ramos proving slippery defensively, but content to execute some fluid sequences of punch-slipping without bothering to counter much. González is still catching him with plenty to mount a scoring deficit that Ramos wouldn't seem to care to narrow anyhow. One spearing blow at once by Ramos, once in a blue moon, always more of a diversion than a punch thrown in anger, helping to get a hand on González's shoulder and turn him away so that Ramos can reposition himself.

Well...at least this is overall less annoying than Ferrer vs. Ortiz - so far.

Round 3

González is putting in hefty double uppercuts and driving Ramos backward across the ring with them, nearly lifting him off his feet as he plants them into his floating rib. Ramos is ducking and covering, attempting to get in low to clinch but getting batted out at the end of González's 1-2. Ramos is using feints but not actually throwing a right jab off a lazy holstered stance, elbow resting on his lead hip as he dips back & forth in rhythm, watching González carefully and trusting his reflexes to save him while keeping his guard down.
