Franco is a very classy operator...one of the better young Cubans...

He's short for his weight class and doesn't have a ton of pop, though.

 

Well, yeah. Co-main event with the fight that just finished.

Rico Ramos isn't in action tonight.

 

He's listed as 5'6" but I suspect he might even be a hair or two under.

 

Round 1

Miranda works his right jab together with some straight lefts low to the body while circling around with a wide gait. Franco flips out some very quick left jabs out of his orthodox stance, looking to catch Miranda on the move. Franco walks him down and throws some body jabs that get Miranda to open up into a firefight with him. Franco takes a hook to the temple and tosses a few lefts to the body. Franco hooks and circles off, using a lot of quick sideways foot movement. Franco is changing directions and firing lots of quick jabs. Miranda puts his right stick out to hold Franco off. Miranda lands a FLUSH lead left hand and Franco goes down facefirst but it's ruled a slip and he's grinning, looking unhurt. Franco gets up and whips out some fast jabs out of his guard as Miranda clubs away at his head off the backfoot.

Round 2

Miranda lands another perfect left, straight down the middle. Franco intercepts Miranda with a double left hook while backing up. Franco is pawing with his jab, watching Miranda who is back to the ropes. Franco down-parries some right jabs from Miranda. Franco slips a lead left and flurries his way forward to push Miranda into the ropes. Lead right from Franco scores lightly. Miranda gets back to leading with his high straight left, and plants it on Franco's chest. Franco paws with his jab on the outside and uses some fancy footwork. Franco slaps with some left hooks to the ear of Miranda. Franco swarms him to the ropes and flashes fast hands at him, not very straight with his punches.

Round 3

Franco is throwing both fists very fast, underhanded and backing Miranda up. Franco is laterally dodging and picking off the straight left leads of Miranda. Franco is getting very cute, hopping around in short semi-circles and darting in with quick double and triple jabs. Franco is boxing very nicely, bobbing with a low-left stance and making Miranda mostly miss (but getting caught with one left hand). Franco is peppering him with mostly jabs. Miranda steps through and commits to a nice left uppercut but Franco gets right back to landing his jab and partially blocked hooks to the ear.

Yeah, a KD wouldn't have been the wrong call there.

 

Round 4

Miranda tries to assert his southpaw jab but Franco is just flashing his hands in his face from the outside. Franco is taking steps back and hooking Miranda in the face when Miranda cuts the ring off. Franco throws a low 1-2 at the tuckedelbows of Miranda. Franco lands a pitty-pat 4-punch combo while turning Miranda. Franco is dancing around very quickly, and thrusting out jabs. Miranda keeps reaching with his lead left but can't hit paydirt. Franco jabs and then hooks off the jab well. Miranda is pressing forward and getting his head clapped by the wrists of Franco as the small Cuban tries to blind him on the inside. Franco lands a nice counter right hand flush on the aggressor. Miranda misses a corkscrew left and gets counter jabbed.
