Maldonado is coming forward, slipping jabs, diving in with left hands to the body. Perez tries to fight his way out of a corner and is harpooned with another left. Maldonado is forcing a brawl and Perez is eager to get into a circling rhythm with his jab pumping. HARD LEFT HAND BY MALDONADO. Perez was stunned but stood up to it and came right back at Maldonado, slapping him across the hips. Flush right hand at close range by Perez, crashing off his chin. Maldonado gets his arms snared under Perez's until the ref asks for a break. Two flush rights by Perez. Maldonado throws a right hook and carries himself off balance, having to splay his legs to stay upright as Perez also lands a right hand. Maldonado dances to his right, and lands a lightning fast 1-2-1-2. Perez tries to line up some straight shots and gets banged with a right hook. Perez is hurt!!!! Left hand plugged to the body, and Perez flees to the ropes getting lit up with a volley of straights! Smacked off the ropes and down!! Saved by the bell, literally!
