True but cardio is hard work and it seems few heavyweights like to do road work.

Yea, but if you're in boxing's glamour division, you're going to want to be knocking dudes out, not dazzling them with your speed and ability to move around them.

which is my point, these "superior modern heavyweights" are mostly lazy assholes with a fast food problem.

Speed creates knockouts. Are you saying that fast, mobile hw's aren't appealing? Guys like Tyson, Ali, Tunney, Holmes, etc would say otherwise. The emphasis on knockouts simply based on size and strength is faulty. Why do you think Adamek has done so well?

    Yeah, it's absurd.

Even the young heavies are fat goo buckets.

I didn't mean to say that they aren't appealing, I meant that the dudes who are a soft looking 220 aren't naturally fitting the frame correctly, so they wind up looking soft trying to put on some muscle to be able to hurt people they'll be fighting against. Tarver was sounding surprised how his shots weren't knocking out Aguilera.

Not to mention, Adamek hasn't exactly been shattering jaws as a HW. He DOES however, have a huge fan base already in NJ, so he'll continue to be a draw.

They're looking soft because they're improperly packing on the weight. Possibility of PEDS aside someone like Holyfield worked hard as **** to attain the combination of muscle and bf% like that from a bulk. It would be much better for them to just fight at a weight in a better conditioning. Lower weight usually corresponds with a higher level of dexterity- and look at how that has helped adamek(who has never been a legit puncher)! He has outmaneuvered his way to a couple of solid wins very well and he could go far against Vitali. I don't even think of adamek as a particularly skilled or talented fighter but just look at how he's done for himself.

Imagine Solis at like 220. He'd be a destroyer.

I think also that his shoulder injury was probably in part do to being 42 and carrying the extra weight. I think his hand injury in his SD win over Rocky was a red flag that his body may be showing signs of breaking down with age.
