Khytrov is tossing jabs up into the mitts and then drilling low with the hard right, but not quite reaching as Brinson hops away. Khytrov is sticking with that pattern, high set-up jabs, all blocked, followed by a harpooning right which either grazes the navel or misses. Brinson is wobbled every time Khytrov mixes in a heavy right hand up top. Left hooks and overhands by Khytrov are still missing badly as Brinson circles away, using the full ring and pivoting off the ropes even as his balances worsens from the cumulative head shots and his own flagging stamina. Khytrov is throwing arm punches now, gassed out himself. Flush short right hand by Khytrov, no effect as his shoulder collides to the hilt with Brinson's. Hard right and stiff jab by Khytrov, and Brinson is bounced off the ropes, into another two-piece. Khytrov misses a couple of wild bombs, and then lands a pair. The ref jumps in.

TKO8!

 

I feel terrible for Brinson. Twenty seconds more on his feet and he survives the distance, and who knows? - maybe ekes out a draw with a hyped prospect. (assuming none of the judges gave Khytrov a 10-8 in the 7th or 8th)

The ref was already looking to step in before the knee, which Brinson didn't start taking until the ref put a hand on his shoulder and got partly between them.
