    Round 8

Prograis is getting driven back as Cowart leaps at him with right shovel-hooks. BIG wide looping left by Cowart marching forward. Prograis is tossing light flurries while backing up, but not committing to them. Cowart is winging punches, missing wildly, but is keeping Prograis on the run. Prograis starts to hang in long enough to stick the jab up, threading the needle between Cowart's gloves and just stamping him lightly on the nose. Very light flurries by Prograis coming in close, smothering Cowart by the ropes. Double jab by Prograis backing up and moving to his right. Cowart misses a jab and slingshots in a left cross but only just grazes as Prograis dips back with his rear knee bent and upper body angled to one side. Long flurries by Prograis, hissing and tickling Cowart's face.

    10-9 Prograis

    80-72 Prograis

In the first minute or so I thought Cowart might disrupt the shutout and hold Prograis off at 79-73 - but then, surprisingly, given the lead he surely must have known he enjoyed, Prograis went to work and completely hushed all of Cowart's aggressive overtures, making him miss embarrassingly and lighting him up.
