Round 2

Gonzalez throws a 1-2 that brushes through Lyell's leprechaun locks but doesn't land cleanly. Lyell is jabbing hard at the belt line, almost straying too low. Gonzalez circles in close around him, and hooks at the body. BIG hook to the chin by Gonzalez. Lyell shoves into him with his forearms pinned to his face, and slaps over the top with right hands. Hard left jabs while circling by Lyell. Gonzalez flips up hooks to the body. Lyell is reaching around with his own body shots, slapping out more to the kidneys. Straight combo by Gonzalez. Simultaneous jabs land. Gonzalez wings a right around the gloves of Lyell, then snaps a straight one between them. Gonzalez keeps the pressure on and works the body.

Round 3

Gonzalez lands a low blow early on and is chastised by the ref. Weird reaction, as Gonzalez rubbernecks while looking from Lyell to the ref and back again and flinching from the harsh tone of the latter. Lyell lands a good high pair to the face. Gonzalez comes forward and blocks another pair on his forearms. Body shots by Gonzalez, leaning over and ripping away. Lyell shoves him back with his arms outstretched, then lets loose with a high flurry. Gonzalez blocks and works the body. Lyell is slammed in the face above the bridge of the nose with a right hand. Lyell pushes off and backs up. Lyell slices at the body with both hands, but Gonzalez throws his own heavier wrecking balls back at his. Lyell falls in with a right hand lead, blocked. Gonzalez leans on him and keeps hammering his body. Lyell gets in a good hook at the bell.

Fighting down to Lyell's level. Some credit belongs to Billy for making him do so.

 

Round 4

Gonzalez is coming forward and stuffing his left jab into Lyell's mouth. Lyell is flapping his arms up high and mostly getting caught up on Gonzalez's arms, but really going for it. Gonzalez is patient in his advance, letting Lyell crash against his arms with his shots and then picking spots to jab him in the face and force him back. Lyell is getting some hooks to the body in, but no more than Gonzalez. Good right by Lyell just before the bell. Again, he doesn't quite steal it.
