Round 1

Mattice is casually jabbing his way outside and then exchanging hooks with Cruz, who needs to come up on his tiptoes in order to mete his out evenly, chin bulls-eye for chin bulls-eye. Cruz is walking up to Mattice and throwing a pincer looping right & left hook combo at the body, although Mattice is dropping his elbows responsibly to cover up while continuing to pave a road in front of him behind the jab.

Mattice is having a hard time keeping the distance as great as he wants and tries unsuccessfully to bottle Cruz up in a clinch. The stockier man just shrugs and bucks his way free and keeps plowing into the body marching forward, bent in at the waist. Chopping overhand rights and left upper-hooks by Cruz, forcing Mattice's gloves to roam haphazardly to intercept a partiality of his blows. Mattice looking a bit puzzled what to do with Cruz, now.
