These ladies fought to a draw in February. So far, Knight totally in control here tonight.

 

Gutsy little chica, this Luna. She is growing in confidence, and the result from last time probably has given her the self-belief that she can spring the upset. Knight seems a little unnerved when confronted with sustained firepower.

 

When this ends there's going to be a bit of a gap until the next bout, as there are only four left after this on the bout sheet and ShoBox (which goes live at the bottom of the hour) is slated to be a quadruple-header.

Knight was outclassing her with ease in the first half, to such an extent that I wondered how they fought to a draw last time and wondered if maybe that had been an off night for her. All is becoming much clearer with time, however: Knight is a front-runner and Torroba is happy to play tortoise to her hare.

At this point I won't be surprised if their rivalry winds up staying tied, 0-0-2.

People on the comments of the Facebook stream are dragging that decision, and rightfully so. I wasn't keeping a running scorecard, but that was nearer to a draw than a shutout.

You can give Knight a clean sweep of the first half, but you'd be hard-pressed to not do the same the other way in the second (maybe a round for her, like the close fifth, but the longer it went on the stronger Torroba got). The majority also feel that Knight was gifted a no-call by the ref when she went down late; it was ruled a slip, but...

Nothing like being the A-side in Vegas.

Farhood hints this might be over very quickly - dissecting the padded record of Cordones before suffering his first defeat - which he's coming directly off - wherein he was dropped 4x.

 

Interesting. Romero had very few amateur boxing matches before turning pro (a few dozen), but that is because he was previously a judoka with over 300 amateur judo bouts and didn't take up boxing until the age of 17.
