Shocked by how good JMM was - best he has looked in years. Bring on Pac-JMM 3!

 I noticed that too. Really bad technique.

I've never said otherwise, I am a Pacquiao fan and I very much want to see him win in style vs a guy that many people think beat him.

Most certainly not. Mayweather has been a welterweight for 5 years, Marquez had 2 fights at lightweight. Mayweather has a big reach advantage over Marquez and is taller, Pacquiao is much closer to Marquez in terms of their natural size.

But most importantly, Marquez sacrificed his speed and explosiveness trying to get his weigh-in weight up close to 144, Mayweather didn't sacrifice anything by even trying to make the weigh-in weight. Marquez won't be under the same pressure to "get up to" the same weight as Pac because he is closer to Pac in size already, and because Pac doesn't rehydrate to as heavy as Floyd does now.

    Two different situations.

But even if Pac beats Marquez, I still won't proclaim it as some sort of career-defining victory, not at all. I would like to see the fight because I think it would be entertaining and I think Manny would win in style, and because I don't like the other options available for Manny much at the moment, but I wouldn't proclaim it a solid gold win for Manny either. With his greater experience at higher weights, he should defeat JMM.

I should say here though - even though I think Pacquiao would stop Marquez, I still believe Marquez makes it more interesting than Shane Mosley does. That fight would be a ****ing stroll in the park for Pacquiao.

If only they could make it a SAME DAY weigh in at 147.... Pac doesn't have to dehydrate, neither does Marquez and so the weigh in would probably be Pac at 147 vs Marquez at 145. Fact of the matter is though Marquez has got worse and Pac has improved significantly, it's not a competitive fight IMO

If Marquez gets outside the first 5 rounds with his consciousness, I'd eat my hat. Pacquiao has improved so much it's not even funny.

No fighter is going to be exactly the same skills wise or conditioning wise. That doesnt mean Marquez isn't up with a good chance for a fairly competitive fight. He'll do a better job then Margirito. Better then Mosley. Other then Mayweather, I think he's the most logical fighter in terms of ppv, and good competition.

I disagree with JMM looking the best of past years. First of all I didn't see any difference from the Diaz rematch, where people pointed out JMM declined because he couldn't get the KO - whereas he had a FAR easier time for the 2nd go, far easier.

I see Marquez decline where he constantly gets hit flush by the left hook early, he seem to be blind for that shot (eye problems maybe?), but then adjusts and estimates the shot good, happed over and over again with Diaz (1st fight), Floyd and Katsidis, all being able to hurt / knock Marquez down. He's not the same ever since he moved up to an unnatural weight for his physical capabilities, but being top elite he can still work his superb skills, but at this age and weight he's not quite the fighter that beat Pacquiao twice on most non-******* scorecards.

If they fight at Welterweight then it's a shambles, no better than PBF v Marquez. I love Pac, but he would get no credit from me for this victory. If there's going to be a third fight it shouldn't be any higher than 140lbs. Freddie Roach has a cheek saying that they wont go any lower than 147.

If JMM really believes that he had beaten Manny twice, then why ask for a third fight?

I would prefer the fight to be at 140 as well. Pac could still easily make that weight, and it would be a fairer fight as JMM will be much more comfortable there.

I agree. I still think it would be a more exciting fight than Pac using Shane Mosley's face for target practice for 10 rounds until Naazim towels it or Bayless waves it off.

The weight thing is a non-starter. Make it a welterweight fight at 147. That way both fighters can come in at whatever weight they are most comfortable at.

If JMM is better at 135, then he can come in at 135. The weight limit is a maximum, not a minimum. Perhaps JMM can learn from Manny's last fight. Even though the fight with Margarito was at 150, MP came in lighter because he felt he was better at that weight.
