To be fair Lockett was a top domestic fighter that wasn't really tested at Euro never mind World level. A very good win on his record in Rhodes, then a few good ones like Blundell, Eastman & Qato.

To say he is a wimp is very disrespectful for him even to take the shot against Pavlik shows he has balls. How the WBO had him as a Mando is another story though.

Gary was out of his depth and he certainly was no badass. But is there any need in calling a professional prizefighter 'a wimp'? I think that shows who the real ***** is here. You despicable fool.

Run along and leave the boxing to the men, darling. :D

Gary Lockett vs. Kelly Pavlik was a real butchering, from what I recall.

Jan Zaveck vs. Rafal Jackiewicz. Personally I thought the standard of Boxing was shocking.

Hmm. Be that as it may, is that really the spirit of the thread?

I thought it was more for world title fights that are shocking to have been arranged in the first place.

Zaveck was ranked when he challenged Jackiewicz (and ultimately won) - so it's not like he was a grossly undeserving and hopelessly outclassed challenger like a Milton Nunez or Gary Lockett.

    Spot on :good

The gulf between Lockett and Pavlik, Jennings and Cotto were frightening. Referring to op, is Audley gettin the nod worse?

I don't care if I am fighting a losing battle I will never recognise an interim champion unless there is a legit reason for them being the interim champ i.e. Michael Katsidis. For me that was international 12 rounder. Fighters that claim to be champions when they are interim champions **** me off almost much as the sanctioning bodies and promoters that makes these fights for "world titles".

I thought Ricky Burns would drop a standard or 2 but this is ridiculous there should be standard you cand go below for defending world titles.
