Two of the most accomplished light heavyweight veterans on the UFC roster will battle again this summer in a rematch five years in the making as Mauricio "Shogun" Rua takes on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at an as of yet undisclosed event. Get all the details that we currently know below.

A monster Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 205-pound bout has been verbally agreed to for this summer, a rematch eight years in the making.

According to a report by Brazilian media outlet Tatame, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio Rua will battle Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at an as of yet undisclosed location this June. The only detail the publication could confirm was that the bout would not be taking place in Brazil.

Sounds like a fun fight, the way Shogun has been fighting as of late, im gunna say Lil Nog takes the rematch.

This is gonna be like Sugar Ray Leonard vs Roberto Duran III or SRL vs Hearns II: meaningless in the big picture.

A good money fight for the UFC, none the less.

Not necessarily... Little Nog is climbing the ranks, and most of the fans watching The UFC have no knowledge of the first matchup. What The UFC is doing is giving Little Nog the exposure he needs before a Title Fight (if he gets there). I believe it's far from meaningless as the two are rubbing elbows when it comes to LHW Rankings.

Shogun may be on the slide, but he is still in the mix. It would be unjust to fight a Contender on the lower end of the spectrum like Ryan Bader.

I agree that Shogun is still a good fighter, and Nog may be improved from his PRIDE days...

Jon Jones definitely needs new challengers, and Nog can fit the bill.

Nog is a great fighter himself but I'm a bit stumped on how he'd threaten JJ.

Sure he's got the better hands and he's also capable of submitting Jones, (Vitor almost did) but I think Nog will be at a disadvantage in the wrestling dept and will also have problems due to reach.

Jon Jones is gonna be the new Roy Jones. He'll win and win and win but get less credit each time out. Vitor did him a favor by almost armbarring him.

Well his next fight is against a middle weight comming off a loss. In fact Sonnen is 2-2 in his last 4 fights with his best win just getting KO'd by an past it Silva and his win over Bisping being highly debatable. I think less credit is merited for this case.

Machida was 2-2 in his last 4 fights..... JJ has ripped through the competition, and all top Contenders are victims. He is fighting Chael Sonnen because Sonnen knows how to sell a fight and wasn't afraid to step into the cage on short notice. Anderson Silva wants big fights and is on a collision course with JJ, and or GSP.

JJ v Sonnen is how you sell a super fight with Anderson Silva.

I bet Tank Abbott would have fought him on short notice. Does that mean Tank deserves a shot at heavyweight? It's somewhere along the same lines, since Sonnen hasn't been recently fighting at 205.

Oh, Sonnen can talk the talk. Well...

If talking tough and being willing to step in are all the criteria you need, Velasuez needs to step up and be willing to face the Tank.

Leonard-Hearns II was not meaningless, especially considering how the ebb and flow of the bout went.

To be fair, Roy's competition dwindled leasing up to Tarver and he carried journeyman types. Roy's my favourite fighter but a lot of his 175lb 'reign' was extremely disappointing.
