First fight was great, but when this match up, between two past it veterans, who aren't at the top of their divisions is one of the most looked forward to fights, it leaves me with the feeling that the UFC hype train has slowed considerably.

Yeah I can see it. There isn't enough top shelf talent and star power being brought into the fold, to replace the old guard of guys like Hendo, Shogun, Rampage, Silva, St. Pierre etc. I mean, any fight now, Aldo's two round gas tank will do him in. Cruz is perpetually hurt. There doesn't seem to be anyone even close to Velazquez at heavyweight. Jones could have lost that last fight had there been different judges. Silva goofed off his title the first time out. Then Weidman checked him into possible retirement in the rematch. UFC needs a huge influx of talent. That hype train has peaked, and is now on a down slope. If it was as popular as White claims it is, they wouldn't have this problem, because many more guys athletes and talented guys would be looking to it, instead of the current situation where it seems like much of the talent is about to retire, and the talent pool is thinning out significantly.

You have two guys who are below 500 in their last few fights, headlining a show? No matter how good the first fight was, that being your headline event tells a tale.
